Jacksonville Kids PediatricsDr. Kostur is a board-certified pediatrician with over a decade of pediatric experience in general office pediatrics and emergency pediatrics. Dr. Kostur is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and completed her pediatric residency in 2003 at one of the nation's top-ranked children's hospitals, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
She has several years of experience working as a pediatrician in one of the busiest children's emergency rooms in the country and at a well-respected private pediatric practice. Dr. Kostur earned her M.D. from Loyola University of Chicago in 2000 and completed undergraduate studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Dr. Kostur is affiliated with and an active staff member at Baptist Hospital, Wolfson's Children's Hospital, and Baptist South Medical Center.
In 2008, after relocating from Cincinnati, Dr. Kostur started her own practice - Jacksonville Kids Pediatrics. Dr. Kostur lives in Jacksonville with her two dogs, Dragon (Giant Schnauzer) and Thunder (rescued racing Greyhound). She is the proud mother of two adult children, Michael and Eva, both currently attending college in Florida. With a strong interest in the science of nutrition, exercise, and functional medicine, Dr. Kostur is dedicated to advancing whole-person, preventative pediatric care.
Dr. Kostur emphasizes the importance of keeping her patients safe and healthy. She is a strong advocate for public education on pediatric healthcare topics and the prevention of childhood injuries. Dr. Alex has been a featured television guest on several Jacksonville local TV news stations. Her appearances include Blue Cross Blue Shield's Gloria Steinberg, host of 'Medical Update' discussing the important topic of pediatric obesity. Dr. Kostur's recent media appearances also include several interviews discussing choking hazards, hot dog safety, as well as Halloween Safety and infant CPR on the Channel 4 and Channel 47 morning shows. Dr. Kostur's recently published an editorial on newborn care posted on the premiere edition of Jacksonville's Expectant Mother's Guide.
